Occupational Therapist - Part-Time

The Calais School is a state approved, highly therapeutic special education school for students in grades K through 12 Plus with multiple learning disabilities as well as anxiety, mood, behavior and autism spectrum disorders. We are currently looking for a part-time Occupational Therapist to work with our students. Responsibilities include:

• Providing occupational therapy services to students as defined in the student's IEP.
• Review and maintain files for students receiving occupational therapy services, and directly communicate to The Calais School case manager regarding the student's IEP requirements and/or required status reports.
• Assist in the research, development and implementation of the Occupational Therapy program to ensure the highest level of therapy.
• Monitor the work of contracted occupational therapists.
• Screen occupational therapy skills for students upon the written referral of faculty, and will refer students through the case manager for needed services.
• Supervise the Occupational Therapy programs.
• Monitor progress of students receiving occupational therapy services, including periodic observations in the classroom.
• Serve as a resource person at The Calais School.
• Provide in-service workshops for school staff when necessary as part of the school Professional Staff Development Program, or as an information meeting on concepts and techniques.
