Key Responsibilities

• Assist licensed Physical Therapists in the implementation of patient-specific treatment plans designed to improve mobility and reduce pain.
• Guide patients through a variety of prescribed exercises, therapeutic activities, and rehabilitation techniques to achieve their individual goals.
• Consistently monitor patient progress, documenting changes in condition and outcomes to provide actionable feedback to supervising therapists.
• Educate patients and their families on best practices for home care and functional adaptations, enhancing their ability to maintain improvements outside of therapy sessions.
• Maintain an organized and safe therapy environment by ensuring equipment is sanitized and in good working order, and the therapy space is clutter-free.

Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work with a diverse patient demographic that includes individuals recovering from surgical procedures, chronic pain syndromes, sports injuries, and neurological conditions. Each patient presents a unique set of challenges, and as a PTA, you will utilize your expertise to tailor interventions that address their specific needs. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including occupational therapists and medical professionals, you will contribute to a holistic approach to patient rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in the state of Virginia or eligibility for state licensure.
• Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment while managing multiple patient caseloads effectively.
• Basic computer skills for documenting patient progress and maintaining electronic health records.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant, preferably in an inpatient hospital setting.
• Certification in CPR is preferred, as patient safety is our utmost priority.
• Familiarity with adaptive therapy technologies and modalities, including but not limited to ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and therapeutic exercise equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and performance.
