Registered Nurse Progressive Care Unit

Responsibilities Ensure appropriate use and stewardship of medical supplies and equipment to support patient safety and operational efficiency. Ensure safe and effective handoff communication and documentation. Follow CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrate appropriate use of PPE, perform hand hygiene according to policy, and enforce safety regulations. Promote a positive patient experience by demonstrating caring behaviors, maintaining clear communication, and collaborating with the care team to provide safe, timely, and effective whole‑person care. Demonstrate critical thinking skills appropriate to the patient’s level of care. Collect and document patient health data systematically and timely. Conduct thorough, ongoing assessments of patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence‑based plans of care. Implement interventions from the plan of care in a timely, safe, and appropriate manner, documenting actions taken. Collaborate and promote timely patient placement by following hospital policy for patient admission, discharge, and transfer. Participate in peer interviewing as needed. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols. Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff, maintaining professional relationships and promoting a positive environment. Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, ensuring understanding and compliance based on assessed needs. Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies, ensuring legal and ethical practice. Participate in initiatives related to quality, safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and impact on practice in the delivery of nursing services. Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring patient rights and needs are respected and addressed. Required Qualifications Associate’s Degree in Nursing (RN required). Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification. At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Location 120 N Oak St, Hinsdale, IL 60521 Schedule 36 hours per week; Days 6:30am – 7:00pm, with rotating weekends and holidays.
