Job Summary Job Title: QA/QC Manager Location: Tempe, Arizona Reports to: Project Manager University Mechanical & Engineering Contractors, Inc. is seeking a QA/QC Manager to lead quality control efforts on mechanical construction projects. The QA/QC Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with industry codes, project specifications, and safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other responsibilities may be assigned. Enhance and maintain comprehensive quality program. Develop and manage welding QC plans and documentation. Review WPS, PQR, and WPQ. Coordinate with third‑party inspectors and clients. Maintain welder certifications and inspection records. Support training and resolve quality issues. Preferred Education and/or Experience Degree in Welding Technology or Mechanical Engineering. Experience in HVAC or piping systems. AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). 3–5 years of welding QC experience in construction. Knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME IX, API 1104. Familiarity with NDT methods (RT, UT, MT, PT). Strong communication and documentation skills. Additional certifications (e.g., NDT Level II, ASQ).
