Home Health Speech Therapist – Goodlettsville, TN – Part Time Join our Home Health team to make a difference in the Goodlettsville area and surrounding communities. Position Overview The Speech Therapist is responsible for the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders and functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. The role includes providing services within state laws governing Speech Therapy, coordinating with the healthcare team, evaluating patient function, assisting physicians with therapy plans, treating patients to communicate effectively, and instructing patients, families, caregivers, and team members. Responsibilities Provide service within the scope of practice defined by state laws in accordance with the plan of care and in coordination with other members of the health care team. Evaluate the patient's level of function by applying diagnostic and prognostic functional ability tests. Assist the physician in the development of the therapy plan of care. Treat patients to communicate effectively by expressing thoughts according to the patient’s condition using acceptable standards of practice. Instruct the patient, the family, caregiver, and other health care team members in areas of speech therapy in which they can participate. Travel to multiple patient residences daily within the geographic area assigned. Qualifications Current Speech Therapy license in the state where services are rendered. Current CPR certification. Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or public transportation. Reliable commute to multiple patient residences daily within the geographic area assigned.
