Opportunity:


RN - PCU


Job Details:


• 12-hour variable day and night shifts available, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend and holiday required
• No self-scheduling; agency typically brought in as variable or straight nights
• Standby/call requirement in place
• Floating required to Medical-Surgical or IMC overflow in ICU
• Unit orientation up to 3 days
• 30-bed Progressive Care Unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4, may stretch to 1:5 with sick call or added CNA support
• Nurse aides on unit with ratios of 1:10-12 depending on census
• Charge RNs take 2 patients
• Common diagnoses include cardiac, NSTEMI, post cath lab, AFib, CHF, GI bleed, detox, respiratory distress, and sepsis
• Experience managing IV drips required including nitro, heparin, diltiazem, and amiodarone
• RNs required to titrate drips including nitro, diltiazem, insulin, heparin, and amiodarone
• Post cath lab experience beneficial; arterial line experience appreciated but not required
• RT equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and Optiflow
• Telemetry techs on unit who read strips; GE monitors used
• Charting system: Cerner
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), EKG Course
• Must clock in and out at the facility

This acute care facility features a 30-bed Progressive Care Unit equipped to handle a wide range of complex medical conditions including cardiac care, post-procedural monitoring, and respiratory management. The facility utilizes Cerner for electronic charting and GE telemetry monitoring systems, supported by dedicated telemetry technicians. The organization maintains a structured care environment with charge nurses, nurse aides, and respiratory therapy support to ensure comprehensive patient care.
