Hospital Units and Services Open–Heart Unit (CVICU): Managed through the Morgan Heart Hospital, this unit handles open‑heart surgeries and cardiovascular critical care. It is highly active, conducting over 500 open‑heart surgeries annually. Neuroscience/Neuro Unit: Addresses complex neurological care (stroke, spine, neurovascular disorders). MICU (Medical ICU): A general intensive care unit. NICU (Neonatal ICU): Level II NICU. ER / Emergency Department. Facility: BayCare Health System – Respiratory Care Services and Pulmonary Function. The Respiratory Therapist is a clinical professional who utilizes the department's scope of services to access, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care as an integral member of the healthcare team. Responsibilities Delivers respiratory care services under the order of the physician and in accordance with protocols established by the hospital or other health care providers, functioning in situations of unsupervised patient contact requiring individual judgement. Performs noninvasive and invasive procedures with minimal oversight. Performs diagnostic testing and emergency care/adult critical care. Certifications and Licencures Required RRT (Respiratory Therapy License). Active NBRC Credential for RRT. CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). NRP (Neonatal) – within 6 months. ACLS (Cardiovascular) – within 6 months. PALS (Pediatric) – Preferred. Education Required Technical respiratory therapy. Associate's respiratory therapy – Preferred. Experience Required 6 months respiratory experience. Skills NICU and pediatric experience is preferred. Clinical skills appropriate to position. Computer skills appropriate to position.
