Physician - Hospitalist- Pennock- Full Time -Hastings, MI

Overview Corewell Health Pennock Hospital is seeking a full time Hospitalist to join their team of eight providers (3 physicians and 5 advanced practice providers) providing care for hospitalized individuals and families in Hastings, MI. Located along the Thornapple River, Hastings is conveniently situated between Grand Rapids, Battle Creek, Kalamazoo, and Lansing. Pennock Hospitalists work days with a staffing model of one physician and one APP caring for an average total census of 18, including up to 6 ICU beds. Nights are covered by a virtual nocturnist and an on-site APP. Some procedures and management of vents are preferred; tela-ICU physician available for consults through state-of-the-art audio/visual equipment. Responsibilities Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients and significant others. Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost-effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of caseload at all times. Provides input into the development of policies and procedures related to medical practice and quality patient care. Provides oversight of Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and others providing delegated services to patients. Evaluates patients, family members, and staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources. Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards. Communicates with other members of the health care team to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services; acts as a patient/family advocate. Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development and application of clinical paths and related activities. Qualifications License – Michigan MD/DO BE/BC Internal Medicine Residency or Family Medicine Residency (with demonstrated strong inpatient experience) Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Corewell Health Pennock Hospital is part of Corewell Health, a not-for-profit health system that provides health care and coverage with a large team of professionals across multiple locations.
