Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to maximize the visibility, accessibility, and value of our internal research data and transform complex biological datasets into high-quality, reproducible insights that inform scientific strategy and decision-making. This role will serve as a critical bridge between the rapid generation of data at the bench and the organization’s need to translate that data into actionable insights, scientific knowledge, and future research directions. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in biology and biotechnology, combined with demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, visualization, and emerging methods integrating agentic AI tools. The successful candidate will be energized by the potential of cutting-edge therapeutics and motivated by the challenge of translating complex biological data into clear, actionable insights that can be understood and leveraged across multiple levels of the organization. This individual will work closely with wet-lab scientists, research leaders, data engineers, and computational teams to develop scalable, fit-for-purpose data solutions for scientific and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Visualization & Dashboards : Design and develop custom dashboards, reports, and visualizations that communicate complex research data effectively to a range of audiences.
• AI enablement : Based on stakeholder needs and feedback, advocate for, design, and deploy customized agentic AI tools and software that streamline bottlenecks and improve access to standardized data.
• Ad Hoc Analysis : Provide ad hoc data analyses to address biological and scientific questions, identify trends and patterns, and generate actionable insights to support experimental interpretation and research decision-making.
• Data Curation & Standardization : Curate and organize research data into structured, standardized formats, with an emphasis on data quality, reproducibility, traceability, and auditability in alignment with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data principles.
• Data Best Practices & Scientific Communication : Partner directly with wet-lab scientists to communicate and implement data management and documentation practices established by engineering and computational teams. Educate scientists on appropriate data capture, annotation, and documentation practices to enable reliable downstream analysis.
• Data Ecosystem Management : Maintain and support the research data ecosystem across LIMS, SharePoint, and AWS. Ensure data is accessible and discoverable while minimizing unnecessary duplication and maintaining clear distinctions between raw, processed, and validated datasets.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, bioinformatics, computational biology, data science, statistics, computer science, or a related field; an advanced degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, scientific informatics, or a related role within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, or a research-intensive environment.
• Demonstrated experience analyzing complex biological or research datasets and translating results into clear, decision-ready insights.
• Hands-on proficiency with SQL and at least one analytical programming language, such as Python or R.
• Experience developing dashboards and data visualizations using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Plotly, or comparable platforms.
• Experience working with cloud-based data environments and scientific data systems; familiarity with AWS, LIMS, and SharePoint is strongly preferred.

Skills & Attributes

• Strong understanding of data quality, metadata, documentation, reproducibility, and FAIR data principles.
• Ability to partner effectively with wet-lab scientists, data engineers, computational scientists, and research leaders to define requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
• Excellent communication and data-storytelling skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to scientific and nontechnical audiences.
• Practical understanding of AI-enabled analytics and agentic workflows, including sound judgment regarding validation, privacy, security, and appropriate human oversight.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable operating with ambiguity, taking ownership, and building scalable processes as the company grows.
• Commitment to scientific rigor, integrity, and continuous learning.

Compensation

The expected base pay range for this position is $115,000 - $140,000 annually and will depend on several factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographic location, experience, skills and competencies. The posted pay range reflects multiple levels within the Technical Career track. The final level and compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
