About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10 Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred Must-Have: Familiarity with general OR equipment. Experience in all types of neurosurgery cases, including cranial, spinal, functional, and vascular procedures. Description: The Registered Nurse will work in the Operating Room, providing care for patients undergoing neurosurgical procedures. The average daily census is 5 cases with a total of 4 operating rooms and 7 surgeons. The nurse-patient ratio during the day is 1:1. This position requires participation in on-call duties, which will be split evenly every 6 weeks. On-call shifts will be from 4:45 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays and from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM on weekend days. Regular floating between departments, units, and facilities may be required. The Nurse will be responsible for the administration of blood products and conducting surgical procedures such as anterior cervical fusion and craniotomy. Experience with various OR equipment, including drills, microscopes, and electrosurgical units, is essential. Knowledge of infection control practices and specimen handling is required. This role will also include adherence to the Universal Protocol and ensuring that all procedures are conducted safely and effectively. The position does not involve weekend requirements or pre-approved time off policies.
