Nurse Practitioner - Oncology, Porter Ranch

Description The NP functions in an interdependent role by implementing the appropriate Standardized Procedures (SPs). In collaborative practice with the Medical Director, attending physicians and fellows, the NP will be responsible for providing independent clinical assessment and patient care management services for Hematology/Oncology clinic patients. The Oncology NP is a master’s prepared oncology advanced practice nurse employed by UCLA Hematology/Oncology community clinics to assist in direct patient care. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for communication and feedback with patients, families and referring physicians and will serve as a clinical care extender of the attending Oncologists. Incumbent must be self-directed and function with minimal direct supervision. Salary range: NP2 (more than 6+ months NP exp) :$93.81-$133.97/hourly NP1 (less than 6 months NP exp): $84.62/hourly Qualifications BLS Certification from American Red Cross or American Heart Association Graduation from accredited School of Nursing with MSN/DNP with a NP Specialty - required. Current, valid CA Nurse Practitioner License and CA RN License-required National Board Certification in NP specialty-required State of CA NP Furnishing with Schedule II, Additional: NPI #, DEA #, Enrollment in PECOS, Enrollment in CURES-required Ability to independently prioritize work with minimal direct supervision-required Ability to work with a wide variety of individuals in many complex settings-required Skills and abilities to perform history and physical examinations of oncology patients-required Skills and abilities to perform accurate assessment and evaluation of oncology patients-required Skills and abilities to develop and implement appropriate treatment plans under established protocols and physician supervision-required Ability to triage patients accurately after evaluating their vital signs, symptoms, findings, etc-required Ability to use electronic medical record (EHR)/EPIC/CareConnect to obtain pertinent patient information-required Ability to intervene to deal with patient problems when physicians are not immediately available-required Skill in communicating and translating medical information to patients and their families, including giving patients and families anunderstanding of their medical condition and what they might expect in the future-required Ability to maintain confidentiality-required Ability to interact effectively and communicate accurately with patients, colleagues and referring physicians-required Ability to perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload and frequent interruption-required Reliable transportation to travel to various clinic locations as assigned by Director-required Will consider a new grad NP with the relevant Oncology experience: NP1 : $84.62/hourly #J-18808-Ljbffr Direct Jobs
