Assistant Manager

Off Track Pizza is hiring an Assistant Manager at $28-30 per hour to lead our counter team. You'll make sure every guest is greeted quickly, every order is right, and every shift at the front of the house runs smoothly. Reporting to the General Manager, you'll train, schedule, and coach counter staff, step in as manager on duty when needed, and keep the counter clean, stocked, and moving during our busiest rushes. Key responsibilities Your main focus is the counter team: hiring, training, and leading the people who take orders and serve guests. Counter team leadership Supervise counter staff during shifts, assigning stations and breaks and keeping the line moving. Make and ensure daily cleaning tasks are being done. Train new hires on the POS system, menu, order accuracy, cash handling, and customer service standards. Coach staff in the moment, give regular feedback, and help with performance reviews. Build and post counter schedules, cover call-outs, and manage labor to fit sales. Help interview and hire counter staff alongside the General Manager. Guest experience Set the tone for friendly, fast, accurate service at the counter and on the phone. Handle guest complaints, refunds, and remakes calmly and fairly. Coordinate with the kitchen so orders flow smoothly from counter to oven to pickup. Operations Open and close the store, including cash counts, drawer reconciliation, and deposits. Keep the counter, dining area, and drink stations clean, stocked, and up to health code. Track counter supplies such as boxes, cups, and napkins, and flag reorder needs. Act as manager on duty when the General Manager is away. Qualifications 2+ years of restaurant, food service, or retail experience, including at least 1 year as a shift lead or supervisor. Proven ability to train and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting. Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, and basic scheduling. Clear, friendly communication with guests and coworkers. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Preferred ServSafe Manager or food handler certification (or willingness to get it within 30 days of hire). Pizzeria or quick-service restaurant experience. Pay, schedule, and how to apply Pay: $28-30 per hour. Schedule: 32-40 hours a week; shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
