Retail ManagerThe Paddock Shop is the Official Store of Road America. The 7,500 square foot shop is open year-round and offers a mix of branded apparel and souvenirs plus an eclectic mix of home goods and boutique items. During spectator events, the shop serves thousands of race fans and on private event days, the shop caters to a diverse audience of car and motorcycle track day customers. The shop is open weekdays year-round May-October. Evening hours are rare.The Paddock Shop is looking for an energetic and dedicated Retail Manager to help run the Paddock Shop's day-to-day activities. The position will report to the Director of Retail and Creative Strategy.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Provide an extraordinary retail experience through enthusiastic, engaging customer service.Supervise, train and assist employees in customer service, sales, store maintenance and product promotions. Develop and maintain employee schedule.Manage store merchandising with an eye for creative display methods.Seek ways to better promote the store and its products, instore and online.Maintain inventory levels by monitoring sales and inventory reports.Responsible for all intake of new inventory and processing it through the systemsManage all controllable costs with a view to maintaining profitability.Ensure the store remains clean and presentable at all times.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Associate's Degree or greater5+ years of retail sales experience in a management roleShopify and Yellowdog Inventory System knowledge a plusOther knowledge, skills, and abilitiesAvailable to work any day of the week, including weekends (weekend hours are primarily May through October).Self-starter skills with a desire to achieve personal goals and those of the retail team.A cheerful, confident personality, eager to interact with coworkers and customers.Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.Strong attention to detail to achieve thoroughness and accuracy in everyday responsibilities.The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
