Project Coordinator

Job Summary This position manages Construction Coordinators and works with Discipline Supervisors to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality. The role also manages escalated problems or issues and provides oversight for planning sessions associated with IWPs.

Key Responsibilities Oversee planning, developing, issuing, and progress tracking of all CWPs and IWPs, and participate in all integrated planning sessions associated with IWPs. Work with Discipline Supervisors and Construction Coordinators to identify and resolve problems or issues related to design information, schedule, material deliveries, change management, safety, and quality. Manage escalated problems or issues. Work with responsible Engineering to interpret Requests for Information (RFI). Interface with Engineering to provide constructible responses. Ensure IWP turnover documentation is returned from the field. Review and monitor contractor/craft Look‑Ahead Schedules for assigned work scope. Maintain a daily log for site records. Support commercial recovery process. Supervise Construction Coordinators; manage and coordinate workload, process flow and procedures. Lead process improvement initiatives. Maintain lesson learned/OFI documentation (Opportunities for Improvement) across discipline Construction Coordinators. Act as the workface planner for basic projects. Supervise project field engineering, project controls, document controls and/or quality controls. Actively promote the safety culture. Direct Construction Coordinators. Interface with Superintendent, general foreman, foreman, craft personnel, construction manager and vendor representatives. Minimum Qualifications All applicants must be able to complete pre‑employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; 4‑year degree preferred. Typically 6+ years of project controls, construction or construction management experience in similar facility construction. Supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of cost control, scheduling, engineering drawings and other documents. Ability to set‑up and perform project controls functions on smaller, less complex projects. Ability to do material takeoffs and field estimates. Strong communication skills. Organizational skills. Safety regulations knowledge. Ability to deal with ambiguity. Problem‑solving skills. Supervisory skills. Contract administration experience. Presentation skills. Ability to manage teams and processes. Advanced Excel skills. Physical Demands Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds. Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in and around confined, cluttered places, and uneven areas. See and hear naturally or with correction. Maintain full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties. Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure. Perform repetitive movements. May require work above 5 feet in height. Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds. Work up to a 12‑hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions. Work Environment Typical construction site environment, with cramped work spaces and awkward positions. Extreme temperatures: above 90 °F or below 32 °F, with exposure to inclement weather such as dust, wind, snow, rain, etc. Extremely bright or low lighting conditions. Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable. Work around hazardous equipment. Typical office environment. This position is considered a safety‑sensitive position.
