Clinical Research Assistant Job Title: Clinical Research Assistant Reporting to: Regional Research Manager Location: Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa Job Reference: AARA/PVCRA Number of Job Holders: 12 Job Responsibilities Assist in collecting and organizing data from studies and trials researching the benefits, risks, effects, and efficacies of medical treatments and products. Observe and communicate with patients recruited for clinical trials. Assess potential patients’ eligibility for inclusion in protocols and recruit and enroll them onto clinical trials in accordance with study protocols. Check eligibility and ineligibility criteria against patients’ medical records and verify information with clinical research nurses or principal investigators. Discuss informed consent with patients, document adverse events, and interact with patients throughout the study period. Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up tests. Monitor strict adherence to protocols by physicians, nurses, and patients, review protocol requirements with healthcare staff, identify compliance problems, and collaborate with research nurses and principal investigators to make corrections. Extract data on protocol patients from hospital records, outpatient charts, and private physician office records to complete case report forms required by specific protocols. Essential Qualifications Knowledge of clinical trial protocols and ability to assess patient eligibility. Experience enrolling patients onto clinical trials and verifying inclusion criteria. Strong communication skills for discussing informed consent and interacting with patients. Ability to document adverse events and maintain case report forms accurately. Capacity to monitor protocol adherence and collaborate with research teams to resolve compliance issues. Proficiency in extracting clinical data from medical records. Desirable Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences, health sciences, or an allied medical profession, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a clinical research capacity. Experience performing phlebotomy. Experience performing basic laboratory procedures to process biological specimens. Job Demands Physical: Requires frequent light physical effort, including sitting, standing, and walking. May involve exposure to hazardous materials and contained bodily fluids.
