Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled persons.

Essential Job Functions:

Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs to facilitate development and rehabilitation of mentally, physically, or emotionally disabled persons.

Specific Job Duties:

1. Completes and maintains patient records.

1. Tests and evaluates patients' physical and mental abilities and analyzes medical data to determine realistic rehabilitation goals for patients.
2. Evaluates patients' progress and prepares reports that detail progress.
3. Plans, organizes, and conducts occupational therapy programs.
4. Selects activities that will help individuals learn work and life-management skills within limits of their mental or physical capabilities.
5. Recommends changes in patients' work or living environments, consistent with their needs and capabilities.
6. Lays out materials such as puzzles, scissors and eating utensils for use in therapy.
7. Plans and implements programs and social activities to help patients learn work or school skills and adjust to handicaps.
8. Conducts training programs in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
9. Willing to assist in our other CCHS facility.
10. Assists in keeping the department and gym area in order.

Qualifications

1. Graduate of an accredited therapy program
2. Experience preferred
3. Current Occupational Therapist state license

Physical Requirements

1. Hearing: Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the phone.
2. Speaking: Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the phone.
3. Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including visual examination of patient and reading information from printed sources and computer screens
4. Other: Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing a minimum of 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and the transferring and repositioning of patients. Reasonable assistance may be requested when lifting, pushing, and/or pulling are undertaken which exceeds these minimum requirements. Must be able to withstand prolonged or considerable walking, standing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling or crouching.

Pay: Part-Time: $39.00-$52.00, depending on years of experience. PRN: $42 per hour.
