Apparel Designer

Design Description We are seeking a talented Senior Apparel Designer to join our team and work closely with the Design Director in creating a trend-forward, juniors' ready-to-wear line with a focus on cut and sew knits, woven bottoms, and sets. This role requires a blend of creativity, organization, and technical expertise to bring fresh, brand-right designs to market. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates superior project management skills, and is passionate about young adult fashion. Responsibilities Design Execution: Produce fast, accurate, and on-trend apparel sketches using Adobe Illustrator for a young adult ready-to-wear collection designed for Walmart. Project Management: Organize and manage daily tasks to meet critical deadlines, ensuring smooth workflow and timely delivery of projects. Trend Research: Conduct in-depth research and present relevant, brand appropriate trends aligned with vendor capabilities. Technical Design: Develop detailed technical packs in PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) to communicate design specifications clearly. Collaboration: Partner with the Design Director to relay accurate information to overseas vendors and address customer feedback effectively. Work closely with the graphic design team to align print and graphic direction for the line. Troubleshoot sample issues and propose practical solutions to maintain design integrity and production timelines. Trend Awareness: Stay updated on market trends through regular trend and competitive shopping. Documentation: Maintain organized notes and records to track ongoing projects efficiently in a dynamic environment. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Apparel Design or a related field 4+ years of full-time professional design experience in cut-and-sew and woven categories Experience in young adult/juniors' fashion is highly preferred Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems Strong understanding of garment construction and manufacturing processes Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with meticulous attention to detail Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members, factories, and vendors Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and staying ahead of fashion trends Hybrid Work Schedule 4 days a week in the office, Fridays at home.
