Emergency Department Technician I (

Overview Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center seeks a Part‑Time Emergency Department Technician for the Woodbridge, VA facility. Shift: 11:00 am‑11:00 pm, 24 hours per week (swing/second shift). Responsibilities Assists Physician, Advanced Practitioner, or Nurse in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients. Performs patient procedures and treatments under supervision. Applies de‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire. Qualifications High School Graduate or equivalent. BLS certification (American Heart Association). One of the following: EMT‑B with state or national certification at time of hire. Successful completion of U.S. Military Hospital Corps School (qualified MMAC candidates). Current student enrolled in a clinical program (RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) with at least one semester completed. Previous clinical experience preferred. Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code within the past two years are considered in lieu of the above criteria.
