Job Code: 2026:0101-039 Location: Fairfax, VA FT/PT Status: Full Time Business Sector: Facilities Management and Operations Job Description The Engineering Aide (Intern) at the Potomac River Test Range (PRTR) will support engineering teams through a variety of tasks and responsibilities crucial to project success. This position performs a myriad of important functions that help streamline engineering processes and ensure that projects run efficiently and effectively.

PENDING CONTRACT AWARD**

Duties and Responsibilities Works closely with Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers, takes on tasks that range from administrative support to hands‑on involvement in project planning and execution. Assists Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers in designing, testing, and maintaining systems and equipment. Collects and analyzes data, prepares reports and presentations. Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs tests as directed. Organizes and maintains engineering documents and records. Provides technical support to other departments as required. Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment. Provides general administrative support to the engineering team as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Required Skills and Qualifications Current enrollment, in good standing, with an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Demonstrated ability to use common laboratory equipment and tools. Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis. Preferred Skills and Qualifications Prior experience working in a laboratory or field‑test environment or with the concepts of T&E. Familiarity with engineering standards and tools. Physical Qualifications The work of this position is performed in an environmentally controlled office environment. Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods. Must be able to view a computer monitor for extended periods. Must be capable of lifting 25 lbs. unassisted. Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must possess or be able to obtain an interim security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
