Role Description The Behavioral Health Technician is a full-time / Part time, on-site role based in Chicago, IL, supporting individuals with autism through direct one-to-one ABA therapy. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing treatment plans designed by BCBAs, conducting skill-building activities, and supporting behavior intervention strategies in clinic and potentially community settings. The technician will collect and record data on client behavior and skill development, follow established protocols, and communicate observations to supervising clinicians. This role involves collaborating with families and caregivers, reinforcing treatment goals, and helping clients build functional communication, social skills, and independence. The position requires maintaining a safe, supportive environment, adhering to ethical and professional standards, and actively participating in ongoing training and supervision. Qualifications Foundational knowledge of behavior analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), with the ability to follow behavior plans and treatment protocols. Strong communication skills, including clear, professional interaction with clients, families, and clinical team members. Experience or coursework in behavioral intervention and psychology, particularly with neurodiverse or pediatric populations. Ability to collect, document, and report behavioral and skills data accurately and consistently. High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification or willingness to obtain RBT credential with employer support. Capacity to work in an active clinical setting, including sitting on the floor, engaging in play-based activities, and managing challenging behaviors safely.
