About the Role
The Company is seeking inspired, innovative, and trusted community members to join its Governing Board of Directors. This is a significant opportunity to participate in leading system transformation and innovation at the highest level, with a focus on advocating for the most vulnerable. The successful candidates will be appointed for an initial term of up to three years and should be prepared to commit to the time and meeting attendance requirements. Director responsibilities include governance oversight, supporting fundraising efforts, and participating in the development of the Foundation's strategic plan. The ideal candidates will have a strong commitment to the company's mission, vision, and values, and possess skills and experience in areas such as fund development, business leadership, board governance, advocacy, and a background in the health system or related fields. Candidates for the Board Director positions at the company should have a proven track record of leadership, contribution, and stewardship. They must be able to make informed decisions, mitigate risks, and demonstrate integrity and ethics. Situational adaptability, financial acumen, and the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders are also essential. The company is particularly interested in candidates with a background in fund development, business leadership, and those with connections to the Indigenous community. A strong preference is given to individuals with governance education or significant board experience, and all candidates must be Alberta residents. The Board operates with a strict policy on conflict of interest, confidentiality, and expects a high level of ethical integrity and solidarity from its Directors.
