Pediatric Urgent Care PhysicianFlexible Full-Time or Part-Time | Up to $228K Total Compensation | Chicagoland, Illinois
A growing, community-focused pediatric urgent care practice is seeking an experienced Pediatric Urgent Care Physician to join its clinical team at locations in Wheaton and Oak Brook, Illinois .
This is a new position created through practice expansion and offers the flexibility to choose a full-time or part-time schedule. The role is ideal for a physician who enjoys treating a varied pediatric case mix, working in a fast-paced outpatient setting, and building strong relationships with children and their families.
The anticipated start date is September 1, 2026 .

The practice provides in-person pediatric urgent care at locations in Wheaton and Oak Brook.
Patient Volume- Approximately 2–4 patients per hour
The incoming physician will evaluate and treat a broad range of pediatric conditions, including:
- Everyday childhood illnesses
- Orthopedic injuries
- Pneumonia
- Asthma
- Urinary tract infections
- Dehydration
- Colic
- Gastroenteritis
- Cellulitis
- Abscesses
- Minor cuts and lacerations
- Laceration repair
- Immunizations
- Physical examinations
- IV management when clinically appropriate
The practice is open 12 hours per day, 365 days per year .
Scheduling is flexible and may include:
- 6-hour shifts
- 8-hour shifts
- 12-hour shifts
- Evening coverage
- Weekend coverage as needed to meet patient-care requirements
Both full-time and part-time physicians are encouraged to apply.
Compensation and Benefits QualificationsCandidates must have:
- MD or DO degree
- More than 2 years of pediatric experience and/or training
- Board Certified or Board Eligible status through one of the following:
- American Board of Pediatrics
- American Board of Family Medicine
- American Board of Internal Medicine
- American Board of Emergency Medicine
- Current Illinois medical license
- Current DEA registration
- Illinois controlled-substance license
- Current CPR certification
- Current PALS certification
- Proficiency with electronic medical records
Athena EMR experience is preferred.
Preferred BackgroundThe strongest candidates will have:
- Pediatric urgent care experience
- Board certification
- Comfort supervising advanced practice providers
- Experience with telemedicine or travel consultations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to compassionate, family-centered pediatric care
The interview process includes:
- Initial phone interview
- Zoom interview
- Final in-person interview
The anticipated decision timeline is approximately 2–4 weeks , with credentialing taking about 30 days .
