Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer
The Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer conducts echocardiogram examinations to assist in cardiac diagnostics. This role involves operating ultrasound equipment, preparing patient information, and reporting findings to cardiologists and physicians.
Responsibilities:
- Confirm patient identification and review physician orders via electronic medical records.
- Perform echocardiogram testing utilizing ultrasound imaging techniques and document preliminary findings.
- Maintain and prepare ultrasound equipment according to protocol, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
- Record patient data, test results, and prepare VCR tapes for cardiologist review.
- Follow infection control procedures and HIPAA guidelines to safeguard patient confidentiality.
- Assist in maintaining a safe environment, including keeping the workspace clean and reporting equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- Possess a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Echo Technician or Sonographer.
- Successfully complete an ultrasound technologist training program, including military training if applicable.
- Hold current RDCS or RCS professional certification issued by ARDMS or CCI.
- Demonstrate proficiency in ultrasound imaging, with preferred experience in stress testing.
- Maintain current BLS certification per AHA or Red Cross standards.
