SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT : Performs custodial duties and provides day-to-day leadership to custodial staff to ensure district facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, sanitary, secure, and well-maintained condition. Assists the Director of Facilities in coordinating custodial operations, ensuring compliance with District standards and procedures, promoting effective communication and teamwork, and maintaining a positive environment that supports student learning and community use. QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent
Valid Washington State driver's license
Ability to lift up to fifty pounds (50 lb.)
Ability to stoop and bend
Ability to climb to the height of fifteen (15) feet
Ability to establish and maintain effective, respectful, and cooperative working relationships with custodial staff, administrators, employees, students, and the public; promote teamwork; and address workplace concerns professionally and constructively.
Possess and maintain licenses and special endorsements as may be required by the employer.
Physical labor for up to an eight-hour shift
Work Skills Assessments: Achieve minimum acceptable levels/scores in reading, writing, math, and technology assessments. PERFORMANCE, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Uses hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow blowers, shovels, power mower and hand tools. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper use of tools and power equipment used in the performance of duties.
Wears appropriate safety gear, including masks.
Must comply with school district's chemical hygiene program and follow MSDS sheets. TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel between schools, or between schools and central office, may be required. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS, WORK HAZARDS:
Work Year: 260 days a year, Monday through Friday
Hours: Eight (8) paid hours per day
Schedule 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday - Friday, hours subject to change based on district need
Salary: $28.10 - $31.11 (DOE), 2025-26 PSE Salary Schedule A

Sick leave, vacation, personal leave, and any paid holidays are aligned with bargaining agreements by association, as listed on our website. Other benefits include VEBA, which is a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) and serves as a way to contribute dollars on a pre-tax basis for out of pocket benefits costs, whether it be for medical, dental or vision premiums, or any other out of pocket medical expenses. - Assist Director of Facilities with all assigned supervisory responsibilities pertaining to the custodial department.
- Report all custodial concerns and issues to the Director of Facilities on a regular basis.
- Ensure that custodial job responsibilities are fulfilled in accordance with the district "Custodial Services Handbook". Report any irregularities or deficiencies to the Director of Facilities, as soon as possible, for guidance regarding corrective measures.
- Model professional and respectful workplace behavior, promote cooperation and teamwork within the custodial department, and communicate employee concerns or conflicts to the Director of Facilities as appropriate.
- Maintain cleanliness of building and campus in all respects.
- Vacuum, sweep, dust, and mop floors and/or carpets, as needed.
- Clean restrooms, furniture, walls, and fixtures, as needed.
- Sanitize body-contact areas including drinking fountains, sinks, toilets, urinals, etc.
- Clean/wash door glass and windows, as needed.
- Apply floor seals and finishes, as needed.
- Replace burned out lights, as needed and appropriate.
- Operate cleaning machines as required.
- Ensure comfortable work environment including temperature, ventilation, and building safety.
- Provide night security of assigned facility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor/Building Administrator.
- Performs general cleaning, and repair work, particularly during school vacations.
- Assists parents and other visitors to school buildings with special events and programs.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor .
