The role of the Gastroenterologist involves delivering comprehensive medical and specialized services to outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home residents. You will provide consultative care to veterans in the field of Gastroenterology, diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders using established methods and techniques. Responsibilities include offering both inpatient and outpatient consultation services related to GI and liver diseases. Additionally, you will oversee the administration of conscious sedation and perform various GI procedures, such as EGD (gastroscopy), complex stricture dilation, EGD with PEG, colonoscopies, push enteroscopy, GI manometry, Bravo studies, and advanced imaging techniques like NBI and chromoendoscopy.
