This opportunity is tailored for a licensed pharmacist with a passion for pediatric care, prepared to support a children's hospital's pharmacy operations during night shifts. The role is a 6-month contract beginning immediately, with a unique schedule designed for work-life balance and a forthcoming transition to a day shift.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and dispense medications accurately and safely in an inpatient pediatric setting.
- Utilize EPIC and Pyxis systems for medication order processing and inventory management.
- Collaborate closely with healthcare teams to ensure optimal pharmacy support and patient care.
- Adhere strictly to hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Support medication preparation and verification during the assigned night shifts.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Texas pharmacist license is required.
- Proven experience in an inpatient pharmacy environment, preferably within pediatrics.
- Proficient with EPIC electronic medical records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.
Schedule:
- Night shift: 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
- Work seven days on followed by seven days off.
- Anticipated transition to a day shift in July/August to cover an extended leave through January 2027.
Location:
- Position is based in Slaton, TX, supporting a specialized children's hospital.
