Position Overview The Department of Military & Veterans Affairs seeks hardworking Licensed Practical Nurses dedicated to providing exceptional resident care at the Pennsylvania Soldiers' and Sailors' Home, focusing on long‑term care for veterans and their spouses. Responsibilities Plan, implement, and evaluate assigned resident care in collaboration with a Registered Nurse. Ensure adherence to HIPAA standards. Qualifications Active authorization to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Pennsylvania. If holding a temporary practice permit, obtain a full PA licensed practical nurse license within one year. Eligible to apply within 60 days of completing an approved licensed practical nursing program. Must be able to perform essential job functions. Work Hours & Compensation Full‑time: 80 hours biweekly (average 40 hours weekly). Shift schedule: 2nd Shift (2:45 pm–11:15 pm) or 3rd Shift (10:45 pm–7:15 am). Work every other weekend. No telework option. Salary: $67,558 per year (new hires). Under the Nursing Referral Program, both referring employees and referred candidates may be eligible for up to $4,000.
