Receive direction on highly complex assignments. Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.At the Operational and Company LevelCoordinate with other internal departments to meet project requirements.Assist with the marketing of the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships.Do the WorkSupervise and conduct complex field biology assessments including, but not limited to, wetland delineations, wildlife identification, endangered species/habitat/biological assessments and surveys, wetland and stream mitigation design and monitoring, and environmental site assessments.Meet with prospective clients, prepare proposals and establish budgets and schedules.Direct and prepare scopes of work, study designs, reports, and environmental permit packages.Maintain close liaison with clients to resolve all project questions, such as, but not limited to, technical requirements, completion requirements and billing inquiries.Support business development in generation of new business.Support the preparation of project proposals, budgets, and schedules.Work directly with clients to achieve site planning and permitting needs.Prepare environmental reports, and federal, state, and local permit applications.Research and interpret federal, state and local regulations and requirements.Collect, manage and analyze environmental data and information.Evaluate project permitting feasibility.Interface with regulatory agencies.Participate in project meetings including client, agency, and public forums.Success Metrics and CompetenciesAbility to work both independently and within a team environment.Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and external partners to include colleagues (scientists, engineers, and surveyors), clients, landowners, government agency personnel, and the general public.High degree of discretion and ability to manage highly confidential information.Highly motivated and problem-solving attitude.Strong sense of urgency in responding to constituents.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Outstanding organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and project teams.Strong work ethic and commitment to quality.Self-reliance and ability to operate independently with limited direction.Strong marketing/business development skills and mindset.Commitment to promoting the reputation of the company through quality of work.Aspirations to grow professionally and advance within the company.Commitment to driving profitability and growth.Effective working relationship with internal leaders and peers, as well as external clients.Ability to collaborate and team well across offices and be able to facilitate agreement.Commitment to becoming a "citizen" of the broader organization, breaking down barriers and silos.Commitment to working in partnership with others inside and outside the organization.Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks.Ability to learn, understand, and apply environmental laws and regulations, government agency policies, environmental principles and practices, and permitting requirements.Focus on improving return on investment.Basic understanding of financial reports and metrics.Thorough understanding of business and financial principles in a consulting business.Thorough understanding of Federal, state, and local regulations and success working with regulators.Knowledge of area specific species, ecosystems, and applicable state and federal environmental laws and regulations.Data analysis and interpretation skills.Strong GIS skills.QualificationsBachelor's degree in environmental science, Ecology, Biology, or related field required at the time of employment.Registered Professional in field of expertise.Eight or more (8+) years of relevant industry-related experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).Proficiency in AutoCAD.Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.About BowmanAre you ready to build a career that makes a lasting impact?
