Associate - Infrastructure Debt

An established global investment platform is looking to add an Associate to its infrastructure investment team. The team provides financing to companies, projects, and assets operating in resilient infrastructure sectors, with a focus on areas such as power and utilities, renewable energy, transportation, logistics, and digital infrastructure.

The Associate will work alongside senior investment professionals throughout the transaction process, gaining exposure to origination, underwriting, transaction structuring, execution, and portfolio oversight . The role is well suited for an individual with strong financial modeling skills and experience evaluating infrastructure or other asset-backed investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate potential investments through detailed financial analysis, cash-flow forecasting, and scenario modeling .
• Build and enhance transaction models used to assess leverage, returns, liquidity, debt capacity, and downside protection.
• Perform fundamental underwriting of prospective investments, including reviews of business models, industry dynamics, operating performance, contracts, counterparties, and financial statements .
• Identify key investment risks and develop analyses to evaluate potential downside cases and mitigating factors.
• Draft credit and investment materials outlining transaction terms, financial performance, key risks, and the overall investment thesis.
• Participate in discussions with senior team members regarding transaction structure, pricing, leverage, and other investment considerations.
• Assist in managing the transaction process from initial diligence through documentation, closing, and funding .
• Work with sponsors, management teams, advisors, lenders, lawyers, and other external parties throughout the investment process.
• Track developments across relevant infrastructure markets and identify companies, assets, and sectors that may present attractive investment opportunities.
• Contribute to business development and origination efforts , including industry mapping, company research, and preparation of presentations.
• Monitor existing investments by reviewing financial results, operating performance, liquidity, leverage, and compliance with applicable financing requirements.
• Assist with periodic portfolio reviews and provide analysis to senior investment professionals on changes in credit quality or investment performance.
• Support projects and analyses related to the broader infrastructure investment strategy as needed.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• 2–5 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, infrastructure investing, project finance, leveraged finance, corporate finance, private equity, or a related investment role.
• Demonstrated experience with financial modeling and transaction analysis , preferably involving infrastructure, asset-backed, or corporate credit investments.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, cash-flow analysis, capital structures, and valuation.
• Ability to independently analyze complex information and translate findings into clear investment recommendations.
• Excellent Excel and financial modeling capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials for senior investment professionals.
• Comfortable working in a small-team environment with significant responsibility and exposure to senior decision-makers.
• Ability to manage multiple transactions and analytical projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with management teams, sponsors, advisors, and other transaction counterparties.
