Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Vision insurance Role Objectives Must work 14/7 (liveaboard) schedule and be willing to travel as needed. The Captain is fully responsible for the safety of the crew, passengers, and vessel. The Captain is expected to ensure that all cargo and passenger deliveries are completed safely and in a timely manner. The Captain will conduct and oversee vessel maintenance. The Captain is expected to direct, supervise, and train the crew. The Captain is directly responsible for the operational condition of the vessels as well as the overall appearance (neat, clean, and painted). Required to report all accidents/incidents to management. Vessels range between 80-140 feet, primary ports are Corpus Christi, Houston/Galveston, Port Arthur. Key Responsibilities Ensure all regulatory requirements are met. Complete pre and post departure checks. Safely operate, navigate, and maneuver vessel. Ensure proper crew training and staffing. Maintain and troubleshoot diesel engines and generators. Complete and lead risk assessments prior to work. Keep accurate vessel logs, including but not limited to Passenger logs Maintenance logs Basic vessel, engine, and generator maintenance logs Pre and post departure checklist logs Ability to operate a forklift (preferred). Ability to operate a crane (preferred). Direct rigging and loading/offloading operations of the vessel. Safely complete cargo and passenger deliveries alongside ships. Emergency response (firefighting, flooding, person in water, and abandon ship). Familiar with jet drive propulsion. Familiar with quad engine propulsion. Knowledge/Skill Requirements Valid driver’s license. Valid Transportation Worker ID Card (TWIC). Valid 100‑ton USCG near‑coastal master’s license (minimum). Valid USCG approved first aid/CPR. FCC marine radio operator’s permit (preferred). Valid USCG medical certificate. Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Leadership skills. Education/Experience High school degree or equivalent, or another related field required. 5–10 years of experience. Hazard awareness training. Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 100 lbs. Ability to climb stairs and ladders. Ability to stand for extended periods. Operate motor vehicles. Wear personal protective equipment, including hard hat, steel‑toed shoes, hearing protection, respirator, safety glasses, goggles, and full‑body coveralls. Work around moving machinery. Perform under stress, under pressure, and in emergency situations. Work in adverse weather conditions (cold or heat). Multitask, work in a fast‑paced environment, meet deadlines, reason logically, and make sound decisions. Comprehend, remember, and follow verbal and written directions and comply with company policies, procedures, and standards. Work at heights (scaffolding or ladders). Work in noisy environments. Work as a team, communicate, and interact with others professionally, and consider alternative and diverse perspectives. Working Conditions Work near others, usually within a few feet. Outdoors and indoors, day and night, as well as over/near water. Requires working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment. Frequently humidity above 90%, noise over 85 decibels, and intense glare. Potential exposure to open fire, flames, sparks. Constant exposure to airborne dust, fumes, and gases. Worker is subject to environmental conditions both inside and outside, with no effective protection from weather, with sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard, and to physical hazards such as moving parts, vehicles, electricity, heights, and large bodies of deep water. #J-18808-Ljbffr
