American Trim is looking for an experienced Production Manager to provide leadership and direction for our manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for ensuring production priorities are effectively planned and executed while partnering closely with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Procurement, Shipping/Receiving, and other functions. 

We’re looking for a leader who is comfortable being present on the manufacturing floor, developing supervisors and employees, addressing problems directly, and balancing daily production demands with longer-term operational goals.

Job Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities of: production department(s) in the processing of materials and manufacturing products to a quality standard that meets the needs of the customer; purchasing and the timely delivery of raw materials from supplier; delivery of the product to schedule established by the customer, by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for assigned Production Department management to attain plant, business unit and corporate objectives.
• Develops production plan, directs production activities, and establishes priorities to assure optimum use of equipment, smooth product flow and timely shipment of parts to the customer.
• Develops a manufacturing plan for future operating periods by forecasting customer needs, taking into account current inventory levels and labor availability.
• Supports the manufacturing process by ordering raw materials and scheduling timely deliveries while maintaining required inventory levels of these materials.
• Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines and equipment.
• Maintains good communication to expedite the flow of information to all departments so adequate planning of equipment downtime and maintenance does not negatively impact the production needs of the facility.
• Consults with engineering personnel relative to the modification of machines and equipment in order to improve production and the quality of the product.
• Assures customer service satisfaction by providing communication on changes in manufacturing, shipping and/or delivery of quality product.
• Directs the activities of the Shipping/Receiving Department to assure proper inventory levels of both raw materials and finished good are maintained and proper storage provided thereof staging for on-time delivery to the customer.
• Compiles, stores and retrieves production data.
• Promotes and enforces the maintenance of safe and healthy working conditions within the facility.
• Establishes and maintains excellent labor/management relations. Oversees fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures to assist us in a union free environment.

  Education, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree from four year college or university, or 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Develops alternative solutions; Works well in group problem solving situations; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics.

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn including but not limited to: eyes, ear, foot and/or other protective devices as required. 

Forklift Certification:

This position requires company forklift certification. Employees must successfully complete a drug screening as part of the initial certification process and any required recertification process, in accordance with company policy.
