The tax analyst position will focus on gathering and analyzing data to assist in the preparation of the Company’s consolidated income tax provision, domestic federal income tax return, as well as other state and foreign income tax filings. The Company is seeking someone who is very self-motivated with a passion for learning in a very dynamic environment who wants to further their career with a great team!Specific responsibilities include:Assist in the preparation of various forms and schedules included within the Company’s Form 1120 – U.S corporation income tax return Prepare various state income tax returns and supporting calculations including apportionment, blended state rate, and state taxable income calculationsPrepare/assist with the preparation of various components of Microchip’s global income tax provision in accordance with ASC-740Prepare/assist with the quarterly preparation of federal and state estimated income tax payments and extensionsAssist in the preparation of responses to various taxing authorities to resolve notices and auditsResearch and understand tax legislation and tax law changes for various income tax issues and participate in modeling different scenariosData collection and analysis (including accounting systems, tax systems, and direct inquiry to business partners)Requirements/Qualifications:The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualities:0-2 years tax/accounting experience with private industry and/or public accountingExperience with tax compliance and tax provision software (preferably OneSource RS), tax research software (such as RIA Checkpoint), and Microsoft Office products with an emphasis on ExcelStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical skills with extreme attention to detailAbility to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities, and take initiative on projectsAbility to collaborate cross function within the company, i.e. treasury, accounting, finance, financial planning, and analysisAbility to work effectively with all levels of staff, both independently and as part of a teamBachelor’s degree in accounting or related fieldPreferred EducationMaster’s Degree in Tax, preferredCPA or equivalent preferredThis position is not eligible for Microchip immigration sponsorship.Travel Time:0% - 25%Physical Attributes:Feeling, Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around OthersPhysical Requirements:80% sitting, 10% standing, 10% walking, 100% insideMicrochip Technology Incis an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
