Senior Airfield Design Project Manager

Senior Project Manager‑ Airports – ( 192314 ) Responsibilities In the role of Senior Project Manager – Airports, you will be responsible for: Acting as a doer/seller for current and future airport‑related projects in the Florida market. Working in partnership with regional business development directors and client managers to develop a short‑term marketing action plan for longer‑term program development. Conducting design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with Project Managers, appropriate technical professionals and other disciplines. Producing and coordinating several projects concurrently, establishing client relations and participating in marketing, contractual, design and production meetings. Providing overall support to area leadership to maintain regional aviation planning and design practice profitability, staff development, and client relationships. Attending and participating in public meetings and leading the development of concepts and presentation materials for public meetings and project websites/pages. Supervising designers and building a growing, multi‑disciplinary planning team, with special attention to developing internal staff for future project manager/deputy project manager roles. Supervising project staff and acting as a mentor for less experienced staff members. Working with Business/Accounting Managers, Project Controllers, and the Area Manager or Office Principals for project reviews. Managing staffing and workload through the entire project’s development to complete documents on schedule. Leading project teams to successfully deliver on a variety of aviation projects. Leading writing of technical reports, presentations, and other materials. Implementing QA/QC procedures and executing training for personnel as established by strategic plans. Developing all deliverables with technical accuracy and quality control. Performing other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Experience with large, multi‑disciplined programs at hub airports. Experience working on and leading large aviation projects. PMP certification. AICP certification. Minimum of 10 years of experience in aviation/airfield design. Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills. Knowledge of aviation market in Florida including client relationships and past project experience. Previous construction, project management, and aviation planning experience. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnel. Understanding of aviation planning and design principles. Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as leadership, planning and mentoring skills. Ability to multi‑task and stay organized. Committed to quality improvement and HDR values. Experience with Microsoft tools such as MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and OneDrive (Access experience would be a plus). Must be highly responsive to requests from clients. Preference given to local candidates. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. 10 years related experience. Minimum 5 years of project management experience. Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position (e.g., PE or P.Eng license). MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be a plus). Demonstrated leadership, business development and strategic planning skills.
