Title: Pathologists' Assistant
Location: Near Atlanta, GA
Schedule: Monday-Friday, Day Shift (hours may vary)

Overview

A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to join a high-performing pathology team supporting a busy clinical environment. This role offers strong mentorship and is open to both new graduates (ASCP-certified) and experienced professionals.

Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities

Perform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of surgical specimens, including complex cases
Prepare and document tissue samples for histologic processing and microscopic evaluation
Assist pathologists during autopsies and intraoperative procedures (e.g., frozen sections)
Accurately document specimen data, including clinical history and handling procedures
Ensure proper specimen accessioning and workflow efficiency
Maintain compliance with quality assurance protocols and laboratory standards
Collaborate with pathologists, lab staff, and clinical teams to support diagnostic processes
Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper handling and disposal of biological materials

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field required
Completion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
ASCP certification required (new grads encouraged to apply)
Strong understanding of anatomic pathology techniques and laboratory workflows
Ability to perform grossing on a range of specimen types (training/support available)
Experience with laboratory systems (EPIC preferred)
