A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a Pathologists' Assistant to join a high-performing pathology team supporting a busy clinical environment. This role offers strong mentorship and is open to both new graduates (ASCP-certified) and experienced professionals. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. Key Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination, dissection, and dictation of surgical specimens, including complex cases
- Prepare and document tissue samples for histologic processing and microscopic evaluation
- Assist pathologists during autopsies and intraoperative procedures (e.g., frozen sections)
- Accurately document specimen data, including clinical history and handling procedures
- Ensure proper specimen accessioning and workflow efficiency
- Maintain compliance with quality assurance protocols and laboratory standards
- Collaborate with pathologists, lab staff, and clinical teams to support diagnostic processes
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper handling and disposal of biological materials
- Bachelor's degree in a related field required
- Completion of an accredited Pathologists' Assistant program
- ASCP certification required (new grads encouraged to apply)
- Strong understanding of anatomic pathology techniques and laboratory workflows
- Ability to perform grossing on a range of specimen types (training/support available)
- Experience with laboratory systems (EPIC preferred)
