Librarian

A reputable library in Los Angeles is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Librarian to join our team This position is ideal for an individual who is passionate about books and information management and has excellent customer service skills As a Librarian you will be responsible for managing the librarys collection assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries and organizing events and programs to promote literacy and education Key Responsibilities Manage the librarys collection of books periodicals audiovisual materials and electronic resources Develop and implement policies for cataloging classifying and indexing materials Assist patrons with research inquiries by providing information literacy instruction and conducting searches using electronic databases Respond to reference questions from various sources including in-person email phone or chat Organize events such as book clubs author readings and workshops to promote literacy and engage the community Collaborate with other departments within the library to develop educational programs for children or adults Keep abreast of new developments in library science and technology to improve services offered to patrons Train volunteers or interns on library procedures and assist them in carrying out tasks as needed Requirements Bachelors degree in Library Science or a related field Previous experience working in a library setting preferred Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Customer service oriented with a passion for helping others Proficient in using electronic databases for research purposes Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Flexibility to work weekends or evenings as needed Salary $1300 per month contract position Location Los Angeles open to candidates of all nationalities We are an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity in the workplace We welcome applicants from all backgrounds #J-18808-Ljbffr BuySphere Retail Staffing
