We are currently accepting applications to fill six (6) Registered Nurse vacancies in County of Santa Barbara Health. We have two (2) Full-Time openings at the Lompoc Health Center, one (1) Full-Time opening at the Santa Maria Health Center, one (1) Full-Time opening at the Santa Barbara Health Center, one (1) Full-Time opening at the Franklin Health Center in Santa Barbara, and one (1) Part-Time (72 hours weekly) opening at the Franklin Health Center in Santa Barbara. The County classification title is Staff Nurse.

We are also accepting applications to establish one employment list that will be used to fill current and future Full-Time, Part-Time, Extra Help and 1414* vacancies in multiple locations including Santa Barbara, Santa Maria, and Lompoc. Please select all locations you would like to be considered for current and future vacancies.

This recruitment is to fill a Regular position, but the eligible list may be used to fill future positions vacated as a result of a leave of absence (CSR 1414) and the duration of the appointment shall be subject to the return of the individual who is on leave. A person who is appointed to a position under CSR 1414 may be able to transition into a regular position in the classification without re-application or re-testing, depending on the performance of the appointee and the needs of the department.

Under direction, provides professional nursing services and is responsible for the operational activities of primary care and/or specialty care clinics or services; performs related duties as required.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with staff, partners, and clients
• A high level of professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion when handling sensitive information
• One or more years of nursing experience in OB-GYN, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, or Ambulatory Care (however, motivated new graduates and candidates with less experience are encouraged to apply)
• The ability to adapt to changing priorities and problem-solve effectively in a fast-paced clinical or administrative environment
• Experience working with underserved or diverse populations
• Experience using EPIC or similar electronic health record systems
• The ability to delegate tasks appropriately and prioritize patient care
• Familiarity with federally funded programs such as Medi-Cal, Medicare, CPSP, and Every Woman Counts
• Bilingual or medical Spanish skills
• The ability to effectively multitask, prioritize competing demands, and apply critical thinking to identify and implement practical solutions
