TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Telemetry RN in Shreveport, Louisiana, 71103!

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Chemo certification preferred, EKG competency exam required Description: The unit has 25 beds and treats a diverse patient population, including medical, surgical, oncology, and comfort care. Travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. If previously a permanent staff member, travelers must be separated for 1 year before applying. The patient ratio during the day shift is 1:4-5 and during the night shift is 1:5-6. Certified Nursing Assistants will assist with patient care on both day and night shifts. Travelers will need strong experience in medication administration, IV starts, port access, drain management, infection prevention, and central line management with blood draws. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse who will take patient assignments and a resource nurse available at all times. A nursing supervisor is present 24/7 for support. Charting is done using an electronic medical record system. Travelers are expected to work every other weekend and follow a rotating schedule of 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. There are specific blackout dates to keep in mind for time off requests. Travelers can request up to 7 days of time off, with only one weekend permitted during the contract. All staff must wear designated scrub colors and adhere to uniform policies. The culture on the unit is described as protective of patients, with a note of high turnover on night shifts.
