Job Title Live Pork Veterinarian Job Summary JBS Live Pork is looking for a talented Live Pork Veterinarian. This role will be a member of the multiplication region leadership team and will be responsible for the health of 26,000 sows and their offspring that are producing replacements for the commercial regions. The veterinarian will interpret and respond to production‑limiting diseases by developing, training, and executing effective strategies to support regional success while collaborating with the JBS vet team. Essential Job Functions Investigate, assess, formulate, and present solutions to address health issues Provide visit summaries and recommendations to the production team Conduct routine health checks Implement treatment and vaccination strategies Ensure regulatory compliance Perform diagnostic testing and interpret results Build and maintain effective relationships with consulting veterinarians and industry partners Monitor biosecurity compliance Maintain VCPR with production locations Schedule and conduct health‑related technical training such as post‑mortem labs, biosecurity training, and vaccination training Stay current on the latest industry developments, research, and best practices Participate on internal teams to provide guidance on industry requirements All other duties as assigned Required Qualifications DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) from an accredited school Eligible for veterinary licensure and USDA accreditation in Missouri and Arkansas Competent in management of swine diseases and a working knowledge of farrow‑to‑finish management Ability to work well in group settings and independently Excellent communication skills On‑farm activities expected multiple days per week Working Conditions / Environment Work takes place in both climate‑controlled offices and environmentally controlled confined livestock facilities Farm visits may involve dust, odors, and hazardous conditions Summer temperatures may exceed 100°F; winter temperatures may fall below 0°F Exposure to various agricultural elements inherent to production Frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, tasting, and smelling Lifting up to 25 lbs. frequently, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
