Respiratory TherapistThe Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed, while operating within the scope of professional licensure and with minimal supervision. This role includes evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, educating patients about treatments, tests, and equipment, and ensuring comprehensive discharge education for patients going home.ResponsibilitiesConduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices.Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance and suction patients using various techniques.Monitor oximetry and capnography, and review chest x-rays for further evaluations.Assist in procedures such as Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube placement, and perform tracheostomy care.Administer arterial punctures and interpret ventilation efficiency through monitoring and reporting tests.Follow laboratory testing policies, including specimen handling, quality controls, and documentation.Execute cardiopulmonary resuscitation according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.Facilitate the maintenance and repair of respiratory equipment as required.ScheduleThis position follows a Day shift schedule with 3 shifts of 12 hours each.Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureCandidates must hold the appropriate licensure for respiratory therapy and have relevant experience in delivering respiratory care.
