Overview: CBS Stations is hiring a digital producer to create content for CBS Atlanta’s digital platforms and the South region. This is an exciting opportunity to help build the future of CBS Atlanta, and we’re looking for a journalist who is passionate about the future of digital journalism to help shape our coverage. Digital producers are responsible for writing stories and clipping videos for the CBS Atlanta section of CBSNews.com, our app, our YouTube channel and across emerging digital platforms. Qualified candidates possess strong writing and editing skills and are comfortable balancing breaking news with longer term enterprise reporting, working across the newsroom to deliver the best that CBS Atlanta has to offer across digital. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: React quickly to breaking news, writing, editing and publishing articles and running live blogs Use a mix of editorial judgment and analytics to help shape content priorities Work with the CBS Atlanta newsroom to execute on digital content to supplement or advance TV content Clip high-interest video content for distribution across platforms Live stream breaking news and other high-interest events on YouTube Create topical longform content for YouTube Proactively plan content around key news events and tentpoles Send push alerts and write newsletters Support digital operations for CBS O&O stations in the region Basic Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in a digital breaking news environment and a proven ability to react quickly as news develops Strong writing and self-editing with a deep understanding of content framing across platforms Deep familiarity with analytics platforms like Google Analytics, Omniture, Chartbeat and Parse.ly Additional Qualifications: You thrive in a collaborative team environment You're excited about the future of journalism, always looking to better understand new and emerging digital opportunities for news organizations CBS News and Stations, brings together the power of CBS News, 28 owned television stations in 17 major U.S. markets, the CBS News Streaming Network, CBS News Streaming local platforms, local websites and cbsnews.com, under one umbrella.
