About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 19:00 - 07:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Critical thinking skills EKG rhythm interpretation Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred Peripheral IV skills Advanced skills in ACLS Experience with bipaps, high flow oxygen, and multiple oxygen delivery systems Experience with stroke and post-cardiac catheterization care Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tubes Description: The unit has a total of 59 beds divided into two sections. Patient ratios on days are 1:4 to 1:5 and 1:5 to 1:6 on nights. Staffing includes unit secretaries and technicians with varying availability depending on bed occupancy. The unit is equipped with bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and various cardiac drips. Documentation is managed through a specified system. Scheduled work requires every other weekend commitment and three 12-hour shifts per week. Floating between units may be necessary. Patient experience protocols include hourly rounding during the day and every two hours at night. Team communication is emphasized, including maintaining communication boards. Specific certifications are required for operation. Candidates should possess critical skills and experience relevant to advanced patient care. The unit promotes a supportive culture, teamwork, and opportunities for self-scheduling. Most staff members who begin contracts on this unit choose to extend their assignments.
