Registered Nurse II - Tele Float Pool

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse II to join our Tele Float Pool, specializing in MedSurg, Cardiovascular, and Neuro telemetry. This role involves working primarily on night shifts with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care across various departments.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in multiple telemetry and medical-surgical units, requiring the ability to float based on staffing needs.
• Titrate cardiac drips as per clinical protocols.
• Prepare for and successfully pass dysrhythmia exams and simulation assessments during orientation.
• Interpret EKGs and ensure proper monitoring of patients' telemetry needs.
• Coordinate with clinical staff and management, including charge nurses and clinical supervisors.
• Participate in weekend shifts and potential mid-shift floating between locations, adhering to staffing protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Current ACLS and BLS certifications.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in telemetry or related fields.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple assignments.

Unit Information

The Registered Nurse II will float among various units, including:

• CV Tele B3A:



• 32 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4.
• Common diagnoses include post-procedural patients, CABG, and general telemetry cases.
• A3 Neuro:
• 28 beds with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4.
• Focus on neuro post-surgical care, including CVA patients.
• MedSurg C5:
• 32 beds focusing on orthopedics, surgical, and oncology patients.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.
• MedSurg B2C:
• 29 beds for general MedSurg patients requiring telemetry.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:4.

Additional Information

The position requires floating to similar or lower acuity units, with orientation including two shifts on the floor for specific training. The role demands teamwork, flexibility, and a commitment to professional development in dynamic environments.
