Digital Hardware Engineer

Electrical EngineerHidden Level is transforming airspace safety with innovative, scalable drone detection and airspace technology. As we expand, we're looking for an Electrical Engineer who will apply their skills and experience to lead the design of custom hardware and firmware for cutting-edge sensor and communication systems.Responsibilities:Perform part selection, schematic design, and aid in layout activitiesMaintain component libraries and create new parts for schematic capturePerform functional test and verification activities for new hardware and aid in production transition and supportDesign HDL solutions for the latest Xilinx FPGAs and SoC devicesPerform timing closure and create well constrained, maintainable solutions that are easily extensible and employ an efficient use of resourcesUse scripting languages such as Python and Bash to automate and improve workflowsWhat We're Looking For:A desire to own project assignments and work creatively and collaboratively on cross-disciplinary teams to deliver solutions that impress our customers and move our industry forward.An open-minded approach to solving challenges, and proactive development of backup plans to ensure the team can hit the mark even when encountering the unexpected.A mindset trained on long-term goals and objectives, balanced with making demonstratable incremental steps along the way to meet the pace of our industry.Excellent written and verbal communication skills to efficiently convey complex ideas, coupled with an ability to listen, question, and understand stakeholder needs.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field0-5 years related professional experienceUnderstanding of digital and analog circuitsExperience with VHDL and/or Verilog to configure FPGAs and other embedded systemsPreferred Qualifications:Experience testing and validating analog and digital hardware using oscilloscopes, network analyzers, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, etc.Experience with modern Xilinx FPGAs and the Vivado design environmentExperience with Communication and Sensor systems, Digital Signal Processing, Software Defined Radios, and RF System DesignExperience with Matlab, Python, LinuxThis position is located in the Syracuse, NY office with the potential for hybrid arrangements.Compensation and Benefits: Hidden Level offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, paid parental leave, flexible time off, 401(k) with employer contributions, life insurance, and disability insurance. The company also provides a remote or hybrid work environment and potential stock options.Salary Range: The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $84,000 to $90,000 annually.
