The Senior Financial Analyst plays a key role in strengthening financial visibility across the organization, ensuring that planning, forecasting, and reporting align with business needs, growth objectives, and operational goals.

The Senior Financial Analyst will support Cobalt's Financial Planning & Analysis function through financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and decision support. This role will own assigned analytical workstreams and components of the planning and reporting processes, producing high-quality analysis that improves visibility into financial and operational performance.

The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and curious finance professional who can translate data into clear insights, work independently, and build effective partnerships with finance and non-finance stakeholders. 

Responsibilities 

• Own assigned components of the annual budget, rolling forecast, and long-range planning processes, including preparation of models, schedules, assumptions, and supporting analysis.
• Analyze actual results against budget and forecast, identify key drivers of variance, and develop clear explanations of financial performance.
• Maintain assigned forecast inputs and proactively identify opportunities to improve forecast accuracy and planning processes.
• Build scenario, sensitivity, and ROI analyses to support business decisions and evaluate risks and opportunities.
• Prepare recurring financial and operational reporting and supporting analysis.
• Analyze enterprise and assigned business KPIs, including revenue, margin, EBITDA, cash flow, and relevant operational metrics.
• Identify trends, risks, and opportunities and communicate findings clearly, including actionable insights where appropriate.
• Serve as the FP&A partner for assigned functional or operational areas, providing timely financial analysis, reporting, and decision support.
• Work with assigned business stakeholders to understand operating drivers, financial performance, and business needs.
• Own or support business-unit P&L and contribution-margin analysis.
• Follow established FP&A planning, reporting, reconciliation, and governance standards.
• Assist with ERP and FP&A system implementation, testing, reporting design, and process-improvement activities as needed.
• Identify and implement opportunities to automate recurring analysis and improve reporting efficiency and scalability.
• Help maintain consistent financial definitions, model structures, and reporting standards across assigned work.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• 4+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, financial analysis, or a related role.
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance-analysis skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into clear business and financial insights.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate, reconciled financial analysis.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build productive relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with ERP systems and FP&A/planning platforms; Workday Adaptive Planning experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with business intelligence, data visualization, or financial reporting tools is a plus.
