A Typical Day The Senior Underwriter will be responsible for underwriting primarily Non-QM loans (all types, icluding bank statement loans), in addition to GSE, Jumbo, and government loans as needed to established company and investor guidelines. As the Senior Underwriter , you must have the ability to clearly communicate underwriting deficiencies and QC findings to Business Controls and Underwriting groups. The Senior Underwriter Will Review to ensure that loans meet all Pennymac underwriting guidelines for Non-QM loans Review to ensure that loans meet all GSE, HUD, VA and USDA requirements as well as Pennymac overlays Perform a risk based review on all loans based on expected performance and ability to repay, aside from GSE or HUD specific requirements Perform other related duties as required and assigned Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values What You’ll Bring 3+ years of experience at underwriting Non-QM loans, and borrowers with complex financial and income statements 5+ years of experience preparing cash flows on partnerships, s-corporations and corporations 5+ years of experience underwriting GSE, FHA, VA and USDA loans Experience working with automated loan origination systems Proficiency with automated underwriting systems Knowledge of mortgage lending laws and regulations Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word Why You Should Join As one of the top mortgage lenders in the country, Pennymac has helped over 4 million lifetime homeowners achieve and sustain their aspirations of home.
