Welder Helper (Nights)

Welder Helper Join our team as a Welder Helper, assisting in the production of custom-engineered electrical gear for the energy, industrial, and critical infrastructure sectors. You will be a vital part of the weld shop, working alongside skilled welders to ensure high-quality outputs. Responsibilities Assist welders in preparing materials for welding, which includes grinding, sanding, deburring, and sandblasting. Perform tack welding to support fitters as needed. Move materials and perform general labor tasks such as cleaning the shop. Engage in various odd jobs to support the efficient operation of the weld shop. Essential Skills At least 2 years of experience as a welder helper. Proficiency in grinding, sanding, and deburring. Ability to read a tape measure. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment Work in a medium-sized, clean, and organized shop. The environment is non-climate controlled with open bay doors and plenty of fans to ensure ventilation. The facility operates on a fast-paced production schedule. Steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses are required. Night shifts run from Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm to 6:00 am, while day shifts are Monday to Friday, 6:00 am to 6:00 pm. It is common to work 50-60 hours per week. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
