Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit position requiring MI licensure and at least 1 year of relevant experience.

Details

• Work in a 54-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit that serves as the facility's main cardiac telemetry unit
• Patient population includes heart failure, STEMI/NSTEMI, stroke requiring cardiac monitoring, cardiac arrhythmias, and chest pain, with occasional overflow medical patients
• Patients are monitored via remote telemetry room as well as closely on the unit, including cardiac drip management
• Typical patient ratios range from 1:5-6, with ratios increasing up to 1:7 during call-ins
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (0700-1930)
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• No call requirements
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals depending on volume/census
• Uses Cerner Powerchart for charting

Requirements

• Active RN license in Michigan (MI) required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Must be comfortable working with high patient ratios (1:5-7)
• First-time travelers accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and telemetry patients, including monitoring for dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips (no titration)
• Assist with rapid response and code team activations as needed
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel rate; local candidates will not be considered
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, and if requested during a holiday period, traveler must agree to work at least 1 of the 3 covered holidays
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Professional conduct standards are strictly enforced, and issues such as unprofessional behavior or shift call-offs may result in immediate contract termination
