Job Description

An Acute Care Registered Nurse (RN) provides short-term, specialized medical care for patients with urgent, severe, or life-threatening conditions, or those recovering from surgery.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Monitor vital signs and track rapid changes in patient stability.
• Treatment Delivery: Administer medications, IV fluids, and blood products.
• Equipment Management: Operate specialized medical devices like mechanical ventilators or central lines.
• Team Collaboration: Work with doctors and specialists to update electronic health records and adjust care plans.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Licensure: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) often preferred or required.
• Experience: Many hospital units prefer 1 to 2 years of general nursing or med-surg experience, though residency programs exist for new graduates
