ICU Travel Nurse Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,110–$2,220 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin Start Date: November 2, 2026 Contract Length: 13 weeks Schedule: 36 hours per week Shift: 12-hour night shifts, approximately 7:00 PM–7:30 AM Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:2 Floating: May float to like units and nearby locations within a 40-mile radius based on staffing needs Call Expectations: May be placed on call during periods of low census; call-back minimum is 2 hours Charting: Electronic documentation; prior EPIC experience is not required Scrubs: Any color ICU Registered Nurse Requirements At least 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross Associate degree or nursing certificate as required for the assignment Prior critical access hospital or rural nursing experience is highly preferred Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to adult patients and occasional pediatric surgical patients Flexibility to work night shifts, rotating weekends, holidays, and assigned floating shifts ICU RN Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in an intensive care unit setting Monitor patient status, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly Administer medications and treatments safely while following critical care protocols Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to develop and evaluate individualized care plans Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record Support occasional pediatric surgical patients within the nurse’s scope of practice and competency Float to comparable units or nearby locations as scheduled to support continuity of care Why Work as a Travel Nurse in Rhinelander, Wisconsin?
