Job Summary:
Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) position in Akron, Ohio. This role involves conducting nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission, developing individualized care plans, and providing essential patient education. Candidates are required to bring their nursing license on the first day. The position offers a daytime shift and requires a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license. Candidates must have at least 2 years of recent nursing experience in a PCU or similar setting. Education requirements include a nursing degree from an accredited program. Location requirement is residing within or near Ohio.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience using Epic electronic medical record system, strong skills in patient documentation, discharge planning, patient education, communication, team building, supervision, problem solving, and time management.
• Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Performs comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of admission, develops individualized care and discharge plans, ensures effective patient and family education, and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members. Responsible for timely documentation of patient care activities and responses. Provides supervision and direction to ancillary staff, participates in team activities, and maintains communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs. Demonstrates a focus on safety and quality patient outcomes, initiating discharge planning from the day of admission and supporting continuity of care.
